Fumiko Tamura, Ph.D. (田村史子) is a Director of Transfer Pricing at News Corp, an American multinational mass media company, headquartered in New York. Prior to joining News Corp, she was a Senior Manager in the Global Transfer Pricing Group at Deloitte Tax LLP in New York. Since she started her career as a transfer pricing specialist at Deloitte in September 2006, she has performed transfer pricing analyses for both inbound and outbound multinational corporations in a variety of industries such as pharmaceutical, bio-technology, medical devices, information technology, financial services, apparel, chemicals and consumer products. Her transfer pricing engagement experience includes: planning, compliance, documentation, IRS audit defence, advance pricing agreement (APA), tax provisions, restructuring, intangible valuations, cost sharing agreements, licensing, cost allocation, among others.
Dr. Tamura has passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination in Maine, and is in the process of obtaining her CPA license in New York.
Dr. Tamura received her BA in economics from the University of Tokyo in 1999. She came to the U.S. as a recipient of the “Japan-IMF Fellowship for Advanced Studies,” and received her M.A. and Ph. D. in economics, both from Brown University, in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
